The warrior is the entry
level for the great journey or the way. It is the first of four steps
along the path that constitutes one eternal round. Individuals begin by
seeking meaning and a cause. The warrior level is the level of two dimensional
thinking there is a right cause and that cause is to be sought out and
struggled for in combat. As the warrior advances, she realizes that the
greatest struggle is the struggle of self. The warrior then learns that
before she can be of benefit to the effort of life over death, joy over
sorrow, and freedom over oppression she must be trained and ready for
battle. This training must be a balanced training of Mind, Body and Spirit.
The warrior level is best represented by the philosophy "true victory
is victory over one's self." As the warrior progresses she realizes
that there is more to the world than right and wrong. The warrior moves
toward the next level by letting go of the drive of the warrior and expanding
it to include compassion.
